Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 1–3 p.m. (Virtually on Teams)
This extensive training explains the role that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have on development. Various topics are discussed including, brain development during childhood and adolescence, the impact of childhood adversity, protective factors, and building resiliency.
Friday, September 18, 2026 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
This course teaches students to recognize and respond to emergencies, including burns, injuries, sudden illnesses, and breathing or cardiac issues. It covers care for all ages. Successful completion provides a two-year American Red Cross certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED. The cost is $100.
A 1-hour training that defines the different types of loss we experience in our lives, reviews grief and the Kübler-Ross Model, normalizes grief through Herschel’s Grief Analogy, identifies the ways grief can impact other areas of our lives, and establishes how to combat grief’s effects.

This Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training will be taught in-person in the Jackson building meeting rooms at LifeWays. This is part 1 of this half-day training.

This Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training will be taught in-person in the Jackson building meeting rooms at LifeWays. This is part 2 of this half-day training.
This 1-hour training reviews the mental health spectrum, how mental health affects our aging and pathological signs of aging, neurodegenerative disorders (such as dementia), redefining independence, and ways we can slow down or mitigate changes to our mind and body.
