MOBILE CRISIS

Support where it is needed most.

A team of licensed clinicians and trained responders who:

  • Are trained to work with youth and adults experiencing a behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric crisis.

  • Arrive on-site at home, school, or any safe community spot.

  • Provide crisis intervention, clinical assessment, safety-plan development, and short-term stabilization.

MOBILE CRISIS IS…

It is the goal of the Mobile Crisis team to:

  • Keep individuals at home and in their communities rather than in ER or inpatient.

  • Connect individuals and families to therapy, tools, programs, and supports.

  • Promote training to strengthen coping skills.

  • Facilitate in-patient stays only when absolutely necessary.

  • Have more care delivered in the least restrictive setting.

GOALS

What you can expect:

  • Phones are answered by staff 24-hours a day.

    Main Line: (517) 789-1209

    Crisis Line: (517) 789-1200

    24/7 Crisis: 1 (800) 284-8288

  • Triage and phone support begin immediately. If an on-site visit is needed, the mobile team deploys 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and arrives within county response times.

County response times: Arrive on-site within one-hour in Jackson County or two-hours in Hillsdale County.

  • We assess risk, de-escalate, and develop or update a safety plan while staying until everyone is safe.

  • The Mobile Crisis team will check-in to ensure services are in place and goals are met.

  • Adults, parents, caregivers, or schools.

  • A school may request our team. However, parent/guardian permission is required before we respond.

De-Escalation Hot Points

  • Remove sharp objects, lock away medication. Position yourself between individual and exits only if needed. Call 911 if anyone’s in immediate danger.

  • Take one slow breath in, count to four, exhale to six. Your calm body language sets the tone.

  • Ask, “Would you like to sit, stand, or step outside for air?” Choice restores control.

  • Repeat their words back, “I hear you’re upset about...” This validates feelings without debate.

  • Say, “Let’s just get through the next five minutes together.” Small horizons feel attainable.

  • Hand them a stress ball, fidget, or favorite hoodie. Familiar textures ground anxious minds.

Billing + Consent

  • All are served regardless of insurance. If insurance is available, it will be billed; some plans may leave a balance.

  • Services requested by a school require parent/guardian consent before our team can respond.

  • There is no charge for uninsured individuals.
