A SUPPORTIVE, RECOVERY FOCUSED ENVIRONMENT

Our goal is to provide compassionate care in a welcoming setting where individuals can focus on healing, recovery, and next steps. The CRU is designed to help people avoid unnecessary hospitalization whenever possible while still receiving the support they need during a difficult time.

Individuals may be referred to the Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) by hospitals, outpatient providers, crisis teams, or other community partners. However, a referral is not required. Individuals can also contact or come to the CRU directly for screening and evaluation.

All admissions are based on eligibility and clinical need for the program. Individuals must meet admission criteria and be appropriate for care in a community-based residential setting.

REFERRAL + ADMISSION PROCESS

  • The CRU can serve as a “step-down” level of care for individuals leaving an inpatient psychiatric hospital stay who still need additional support before returning home. This helps provide a smoother transition back into the community while continuing treatment, stabilization, and recovery support.

    1. Initial Screening
Each individual completes a screening to determine whether the CRU is the right level of care based on current needs and admission criteria.

    2. Review of Information
If referred by a provider or hospital, clinical records and a referral form may be requested to help the CRU team better understand the individual’s needs.

    3. Program Review & Admission Decision
The CRU team reviews all information to determine eligibility and whether the program is an appropriate fit for care and support.

  • Participation in the CRU services is voluntary. Individuals who stay at the CRU must be willing to participate in treatment, work with staff on goals, and engage in the recovery process.
